Guatemala Day 5

Well, yesterday I the opportunity to go take some food to some families who are in some harsh living conditions.  I am blessed for what God has given me, but what brings me to tears is that these families consider them selves to blessed too, even though they do not have much.  One of the assistant pastors, Teddy and Ramiro who is in training to be a pastor and I went out to this part of town to deliver these boxes of food.  We had the opportunity to share the Gospel and tell that Jesus does love them and cares for them deeply.  Pray for these families that God would reach out to them.  Pray that God might even use you to do that.  Opportunities are endless here.

Today I went to a school and played with the kids during recreation time.  These schools might have 10% of the things that we have inour school in the US.  Daniel Zellner and his family move to Guatemala about 6 years ago from the US to work in these schools.  It is awesome to see the passion they have for serving the Lord.  They are helping with English and lots of the other basics such as reading, writing, and math.  My prayer for these kids at the schools is that God would allow them to get an education that can lead them to a better life.  All of these kids did not choose to be in this situation.  sometime we take it for granted living in the US.  I had nothing to do with being born in the US, it was just by God’s grace.  The purpose that he put me in the US was so I can give up of myself and reach out to people all over the world, becasue they are worhty of God’s glory.

Thank you for your prayers, God is doing great things.

Hearing about the school there reminds me of the school I helped at in the Philippines. Preschool classes are supposed to be filled with toys to encourage learning through play but they have none. We are so blessed to have grown up in America and I sometimes questioned why but its true. God has chosen to bless us so that we may be a blessing on others. “…From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48
